Still on the fence?

Here are some questions you might have:

IS THIS VIRTUAL OR IN-PERSON?

This is VIRTUAL training from my LIVE Zoom. The workshop will be recorded so that you can review as you need.

IS THIS FOR PARENTS OR STUDENTS?

Yes! Both! Parents, you will learn the basics of the IEW program through hands-on writing workshops. This learning will continue as you watch the IEW Training videos with your community in the coming year; but those videos do not give you and your student hands-on experience! Students, you will learn and/or review basic IEW skills, which will carry over into LTW/CC Challenge levels.

WILL I NEED TO PAY TO ATTEND?

Yes. This workshop is offered by a professional writer, certified Language Arts teacher, and registered IEW tutor. The goal is to give parents and students confidence with the IEW program as they enter CC Essentials. This class also helps students NEW to CC Challenge by giving them background knowledge of key terms and skills common to CC students.

IS THERE GOING TO BE A PITCH?

Nope, there won’t be any pitches. This training will be 100% value.

HOW DO I KNOW THIS ISN’T JUST ANOTHER “WEBINAR”?

This training is not another talking head. The workshop is live, and you will have ample time to ask questions.

WHAT IF I’M JUST STARTING OUT?

Perfect! You’re exactly who this class is for! This workshop was created for seasoned AND new IEW families. Many parents have concerns when their student is new to a writing program, and this class will give you a head start in understanding the program and practicing some of the techniques. Starting the year familiar with the content gives any student a leg up!

What's your background, JULIE?

I am a writing teacher previously to middle school students and now to Christian homeschoolers. I have a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing plus English Literature. I privately tutor IEW courses as an IEW Registered Instructor and have tutored with IEW for the CC Essentials program for five years. I am a homeschool mom of 2 sons who have completed Classical Conversations Essentials (3 tours each) and Challenges A & B. I’m also a former Challenge B Director and current Challenge 1 Director and have led in-person LTW equipping events for my local CC Community. In addition, I am a homeschool & parenting blogger, children’s book author, and devotional writer. I love the concept of "coming alongside" parents and students, and I think you’ll find me to be a warm, encouraging writing coach.
